Amy Kahl was single mom for 17 years

Amy Kahl, the new executive director of Richland Pregnancy Services, has a heart for the ministry and the moms and dads who are trying to figure parenthood out on their own.

She knows firsthand, as she was a single mom for 17 years.

“So we want to support them,” Kahl said.

Kahl is a familiar face to the nonprofit at 1560 W. Fourth St., having previously served as theorganization’s director of development.

The most rewarding part of the job is seeing families be strengthened, she said.

Rewarding to see parents learn new skills

“And just seeing moms and dads, seeing that they can do this,” she said. “That they can learn new skills and they have support.”

The agency has two full-time staff members and eight part-time paid staff.

“We have more than 60 regular volunteers,” she added.

Kahl is replacing Amanda Clark, who earlier this year was hired by the National Pregnancy Center Organization, Care Net.
