After his 2019 release from prison, Joe Giudice left the United States and spent some time living in his birthplace of Sala Consilina, Italy.
As he shared on the December 13 episode of ex-wife Teresa Giudice’s podcast, Namaste B$tches, there weren’t many jobs he could take in that particular part of Italy, and he struggled to be so far away from his four daughters (Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana Giudice). He moved to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, in 2021.
Now, Joe is living his best life in the Bahamas. He’s just a short flight away from his daughters, and he’s back to working in construction. Though Joe is enjoying his time in his new home, would he want to be able to move back to the U.S. one day?
On the December 21 episode of Namaste B$tches, Teresa and co-host Melissa Pfeister discussed the latest in Joe’s deportation case, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member shared an update on what it’s really like to co-parent with her ex-husband.
Teresa shared whether Joe Giudice wants to return to the U.S.
While Joe is happy to have made a home for himself in the Bahamas, Teresa revealed on the podcast that her ex would ultimately like to be able to move back to the States.
“We’re working on that right now,” Teresa told Melissa, before adding that her husband, Luis “Louie” Ruelas, was actually on his way to “pick up all his paperwork from the immigration attorney” as the co-hosts were recording the episode.
“Joe is talking to an attorney, and the girls are in the process of writing letters, because they have to submit them, of why they want their father to come back to this country,” Teresa said, later sharing that Louie had also actually written a letter on her ex’s behalf.
She revealed that she “hadn’t talked to [Joe] about it,” so she wasn’t sure what his chances were regarding a potential return to the U.S.
“You never know,” she added. “Never say never.”
The RHONJ cast member opened up about the difficulties of co-parenting with her ex from a different country
Though Joe is living much closer to Teresa and his four daughters as he continues to explore his legal options in his deportation case, he is still a flight away from New Jersey.
As a result, Teresa said, she has become “frustrated” at times with the situation, and she noted that she was upset with him after her mom passed away.
“Everything’s fine now,” Teresa said of how she feels about her ex-husband presently. “Because, I guess, time heals all wounds.”
Teresa also recognized that Joe “had to start all over again” in the Bahamas, which hasn’t been easy.
“The only time we even have a disagreement is [because] it’s hard to co-parent from two different [countries],” she continued. “And, of course, I am doing it all on my own. Some days, do I get frustrated? Of course I do.”
The RHONJ OG said she knows her ex is a “good man” and a “good dad,” so she tries to be as “patient” with him as possible.
“I can’t wait for him to be back on top,” she said.
